Sore Throat aka Pharyngitis

Have you had a scratchy throat? A pain in the front of your neck? Does swallowing even a swig of your throat cause you to squeal?

If the answer to the above is yes, then you might be suffering from a simple case of sore throat also known as  Pharyngitis.

Lets get to the nitty gritty and the real dirty on this common health buster. Pharyngitis basically is made from combining 2 words. Pharynx for throat area and itis for inflammation. So basically your throat gets infected by a organism.

Which organism?? Well majority of the time the culprit is a little fellow known as Streptococcus pyogenes. This is a Bacteria and boy does it cause havoc. Other causes include Viruses, or other bacteria.

Now how can your treat yourself.

First-- Chomp down some Paracetamol - as pharyngitis is usually accompanied by fever getting some in your system will help you loads.

Second -- Chomp down some Antibiotics - this is to kill the small but unfriendly Strepto colonising your mouth

Third-- Grab a glass, throw in some warm water and a dash of salt. Mix well. Place water in your mouth and gargle. Really spin up a tornado in there!!!

Thats pharyngitis for you..
